By default the Sterling Theme’s jQuery Slider uses a specific Image Size for the Featured Image, however if you need a different size image there is an easy work-around. Just follow the bellow instructions: DO NOT use the Featured Image Setting Instead we will insert the Image directly into the Post Editor.
If one of the available Image Frames Shortcodes fits your needs: In Post Editor insert 2 Columns Shortcodes and insert your text into one Column and an Image Frame Shortcode into the other Column. You may even insert an Image Frame Lightbox. Example:
[one_half]
Custom Featured Image Size

This is an example code of a custom Image size using an Image Frame Shortcode inserted code directly into the Post. [/one_half] [one_half] [image_frame size="full-third" image_path="" description="" link_to_page="" target="_self"] [/one_half]
If you need custom Image size: In Post Edit, using the Text Editor add the following code:
[one_half]
Custom Featured Image Size

This is an example code of a custom Image size inserted code directly into the Post. [/one_half] [one_half]
///insert image here///
[/one_half]
Note the Image is inserted into a DIV with a class name of single-post-thumb. This will wrap your image in a frame. Whereas ///insert image here/// is where you insert an image using WordPress Insert Image. Please note that using this method the Theme will not be able to control (crop) the image so make sure to upload and insert the image already with the needed dimensions.
