JetPack Plugin: Fatal error require_once()

This article describes a solution to fix the “blank white screen” error experienced when using JetPack Plugin.

The Error:

Version 2.0 of the JetPack Plugin triggers the infamous “white screen of death” when using our themes. Or you may see the following error:

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/87/10123387/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/contact-form//truethemes-recaptchalib.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5_3/lib/php’) in /home/content/87/10123387/html/wp-content/themes/Karma/truethemes_framework/extended/grunion-contact-form/grunion-contact-form.php on line 30

The Cause:

The cause of this error is a file conflict. JetPack 2.0 now includes some of the same files used in Karma’s Form Builder.

The Fix:

To fix you will simply need to access JetPack’s Setting’s Page and disable JetPack’s Contact Form Module before activating the Karma Theme. If you are not able not able to access the Dashboard, kindly access your server via FTP and locate the Karma theme in /wp-content/themes/Karma/ and remove the Karma folder completely. You should then be able to access your Dashboard. Now you can proceed with the fix shown above and re-install the Theme successfully.
